it is interesting; something we noted when we lived much, much closer to the train tracks (read: within ten feet) that the heavily weighted trains move at night.

Even with the street, the Loblaws and the parking lot (not to mention assorted green spaces) between us and the same set of train tracks (although several blocks further east), the sheer weight and mass of the train that must be going past right now to gently shake my monitor.

Trains in the night. Not for nothing are they synonymous with loneliness and an awareness of one's static position relative to a word of motion and possibility. Must mean I have to listen to some Johnny Cash before bed.

so to speak.

I recently found a supplier of bamboo fibre clothing.

This company is Canadian, and makes clothes out of certified organic cotton and bamboo fibre that is ALSO fair-trade and sustainably harvested/grown.

This company makes teeshirts, long-sleeve and regular, tank tops of several varieties, hoodies and hoodless-zippies, a variety of yoga-pant-style thingies, even underwear and sweatbands.

I am a HUGE fan, I have one hoodie from them and a long sleeve teeshirt, as well as capri cullots and drawstring waist long pants.

my question is- would anyone be interested in ordering stuff for themselves from this company? I have a paper catalogue. I have the ability to middle-man this clothing line for folks.

the only problem?

a hoodie would run about $90, teeshirts probably $55. Maybe a little more. Because, of course, this stuff is not made in China by 5-year-olds.

is anyone interested? Should I host an eco-friendly clothing version of a tupperware party?

and also-

I was fairly sure that I made up the word 'ridonkulous' last year.

Except I keep seeing it used; at least one movie I saw this weekend had a character use it, and I have also heard it...somewhere else...??

weird.

I was SO SURE that I had made that up. Goes to show that nothing is new, after all!

After a long hiatus, we have once again decided to stock essential oils at the Occult Shop.

as of the end of this coming week we will be stocking the following oils:

Bay
Benzoin
Camphor
Eucalyptus
Frankincense (Oman)
Hyssop
Lavender (French)
Myrrh (Indian)
Patchouli
Rosemary (Spanish)
Sage

needless to say we are very excited about this development! They are from a company that works with local suppliers and small businesses as much as possible and has a policy of ethical harvesting etc. They are lovely people and their oils are just fantastic.

Prices will be determined as soon as possible but they will be very reasonable.

future oils will probably include Chamomile, Labdanum, Spikenard, Cypress, Lemongrass, Star Anise and Mugwort depending on response and demand.

absolutely. The last time I did past life regression, I was a completely commonplace farm girl in the Netherlands in 1579. Although me now knows exactly shit all about what happened in history then, the details that came up during the regression (which is a skill all on it's own, the ability to look for more information without asking leading questions of any kind) were exact enough that when I got home and did a google search for '1579 Netherlands', the amount of corroborative information just blew me away.

Yup. Cool stuff.

Hmmm.

Today at work was very, very busy.

HOWEVER, not too busy to give a shout out to the Strangest birthday girl I know. In honour of your arrival on this planet I dyed my hair purple today.

Happy Birthday Mildred!!!

Have we really known each other for a decade? Dude. I guess it'll be time for our annual hug soon!!!

Silly me.

Yes folks, I'm sorry to say that the end is, indeed, very very nigh.

I had seafood voluntarily last night and enjoyed the hell out of it.

Red Snapper Sashimi, you are so, so good. And apparently what we had was no where near as good as it gets.

I will now wait for the bombs to fall.

and a very, very happy birthday to Kea! May it be filled with the wierd, the wonderful and the satisfying.

okay, seriously. Mapquest is telling me that it's only about 3.75km from my house to Queen and Bathurst, is this right?

anyone?

because if so, I am fully justified in not thinking it's a long walk. People in this city just don't walk enough, I say. Also, the realisation that it's a scant 15 minute walk to Bathurst station is pretty sweet too.

taking a cab home from work...

and putting my cooking tripod, cauldron, and spear into the trunk.

Then coming inside, and grabbing the deer skull and heading out to the front porch to grab the last of the day's light to varnish it thoroughly against the elements.

I tipped the cabbie, in case anyone was wondering.

Toronto being what it is, he looked totally unsurprised.

see? Perfectly Normal.

Here is a list of what's up for grabs, the dimensions and the asking price. As nothing is set in stone, don't be shy about making us an offer, or asking further questions. All measurements are in inches, because I sew. So there.

well, I've started the box collection at work and sorted out the interior of the deacon's bench, unplumbed depths that it was...threw out half of what was in there and found homes for new stuff in there, so huzzah!

going to see Pete today to get more work done on my chest before heading off to Hamilton for a good friends wedding (well, two good friends getting hitched, what could be better??)

things currently going-hopefully for sale.

vanity with stool, mirror, little drawers for jewellery etc. Super awesome and girly but I just don't use it anymore. Asking $100.
white bag hanger thingy thats currently by our front door asking $50 OBO
white dresser (table height, solid wood with white painted front, brass pulls) $50 OBO
fridge $100
stove $100
our giant wooden desk $100 OBO (you will need a van to take this baby away!)
coffee table, potentially with the baskets $50 OBO

so far, so good. If anyone is interested or knows someone who is, photos are providable (I'm busy)

all lights off in the house except for the heat lamps for the snakes and the top lights in the bedroom for the dog-

we were going out at 8:15 for an event that would not see us home until, well, now. Sorry, too long to leave snakes cold or dog in the dark alone.

also, I'm interested in how the respective power grids for the MMC's that were doing this event dealt with the flux in power demand.
